This is one of those travel items you don’t think much about until you use it — and then you don’t want to go without it.
The FLEXTAIL inflatable pillow packs down small but actually feels supportive when you lie on it. It’s shaped to cradle your neck instead of being a flat air blob, and you can adjust the height depending on how firm you like it. A few breaths (or a pump) and it’s ready.
It works just as well on a plane, in a tent, in a car, or on a couch. The fabric feels soft against your skin, not plasticky, and it doesn’t make that loud crinkling noise when you move. When you’re done, you let the air out, roll it up, and it disappears into your bag.
It’s light, washable, and simple — just a small upgrade that makes sleeping away from home a lot more comfortable.

ZERO Pillow: 150g
ZERO Pillow SE: 160g
The difference is basically nothing in real life. If you’re counting grams obsessively (ultralight hiking), the standard ZERO technically wins, but most people won’t notice.
Storage size is almost the same. The SE packs slightly bulkier, but again, barely noticeable unless you’re stuffing a tiny pack.
They’re identical.
Same length, width, and height range
Same adjustable height (low to high)
Same neck support profile
Comfort from the shape itself is not the differentiator here.
This is where the choice actually matters.
ZERO Pillow
Pillowcase: 50D suede polyester
Feels a bit more textured
Slightly more “outdoor” feel
Breathable and lighter
ZERO Pillow SE
Pillowcase: 30D double velour
Softer, smoother, more plush
Feels more like a home pillow
Better if you’re sensitive to fabric feel on skin
If you’ve ever hated that slick or rough feeling on camping pillows, the SE fixes that.
Both use the same TPU inner airbag and valve materials
Structurally, they’re equally reliable
The standard ZERO’s fabric may hold up slightly better to rough use (dirt, friction), while the SE prioritizes comfort over toughness.
Go with ZERO Pillow if:
You prioritize lighter weight
You do more camping, hiking, backpacking
You don’t care much about fabric softness
You want the most minimal setup
Go with ZERO Pillow SE if:
You care a lot about comfort and feel
You’ll use it for travel, flights, cars, hostels
You want something that feels closer to a real pillow
Slight extra weight doesn’t matter
